The DevOps field is growing rapidly, and with it salaries for those in the profession are on the rise. A recent survey of DevOps professionals shows that salaries are increasing at a rate of 6% each year.

DevOps professionals are some of the highest-paid in the tech industry, and their salaries are only going to continue to grow in the next few years. But what do DevOps professionals make exactly? And how does their pay vary by region and gender?

DevOps Salaries by Region

The SiLabs Survey recently conducted, queried nearly 2,000 DevOps respondents from around the globe. It found that the average salary for a DevOps professional is now $130,000. But that number varies significantly by region. Here are the average DevOps salaries by region:

  • North America: the average salary is $167,000
  • Europe: the average salary is $115,000
  • Asia Pacific: the average salary is $85,000
  • Latin America: the average salary is $75,000

DevOps professionals make a lot of money. A recent survey of nearly 2,000 DevOps workers from all over the world found that the average salary for a DevOps worker is now $130,000. But that number varies a lot depending on where you live. In North America, the average salary is $167,000. In Europe, the average salary is $115,000. And in Asia Pacific, the average salary is just $85,000.

Obviously, DevOps salaries are highest in North America. But there’s a caveat here: the cost of living is also higher in North America than it is in other parts of the world. So when you take that into account, the DevOps salaries in Europe and Asia Pacific are actually pretty comparable.

DevOps Salaries by Gender

The SiLabs survey also looked at how DevOps salaries vary by gender. Unfortunately, the data shows that there’s a significant wage gap between men and women in the DevOps profession. Breaking the data down by gender, the survey found that men earn an average of $143,000, while women earn $112,000. That’s a difference of nearly 20%. Here are the average salaries for men and women in DevOps:

  • Male: $136,000
  • Female: $112,000

There’s a significant wage gap between men and women in the DevOps profession. The SiLabs survey found that the average salary for men in DevOps is $136,000, while the average salary for women is $112,000. That’s a gap of nearly 20%.

There are a few possible explanations for this discrepancy. One is that there are still fewer women than men in the DevOps profession, and so they are naturally earning less. Another possibility is that women are being paid less for the same work as men. Or it could be that women are more likely to take jobs that have lower salaries. Another is that women are less likely to ask for raises. And finally, it’s possible that women are not being promoted to senior positions as often as men.

No matter the reason, it’s clear that there’s a lot of work to be done when it comes to equal pay for men and women in the tech industry. But hopefully, with more attention being paid to this issue, we can start to close the wage gap. DevOps professionals need to be paid based on their skills and experience, not their gender.

DevOps Salaries: How Much Do They Make?
